I use a cometic hg, no problems here.

Oh, and stop driving the car man, you're going to ruin the sleeves. Trust me I know that one.

Preciate it brother. The build probably won't start for atleast a week in a half, maybe 2 weeks, but I would love for it to be up and running by the beginning of july.

As far as Stiner's question, ANY motor can have a piston break, seals go out, etc. It doesn't matter if it has spray or not, if its tuned properly or not, ANY motor can have issues ya know what I mean? My motor had a VERY conservative tune its whole life and never saw anything over a 50shot on it. But stuff happens, who knows maybe its just a piston seal, or a cracked landing. I won't know until I rip her apart with the boys.

I'm not knocking you at all, just adding my opinion. I don't think your going to find something wrong with 1 cylinder, it's low compression across the board, there's something wrong in every hole, or your tester was readin low?

I know exactly what your saying but the odds of EVERY piston being broke or EVERY ring landing being broke is pretty slim, who knows whats going on with it. Soon enough I will know =D.

It has NOTHING to do with the tuning, wow guys really? Apparently you guys have never sprayed the **** and beaten the **** out of a car and had a part break. It has NOTHING to do with the tune and EVERYTHING to do with a mechanical part failing. My motor has never seen any knock unless it was false knock occasionally.

I have taken every precaution with this motor but still, parts break.

As far as the warranty thing goes, its an EXTENDED warranty that is covering this, as long as I take the bottle out of the trunk I will be good. They covered my tranny a couple weeks back when I cracked it at the track . Ottp stage 2 rotated tranny mounts solved that problem lol.

Wasn't saying you can't tune or anything, was more of a joke.

Damien - Gotcha brother.

Drew - Actually the car runs and drives just fine, I would feel 100% safe and comfortable driving it to california and back to be honest. Whenever you gather up a few people I will come down and do the tuning, just let me know when.

Is it blowing the dipstick out or anything?... I still don't see how all your numbers can be that low and the car still has no symptons, unless your compression tester was just reading low...

383 stroker - Ya the dipstick is popping out at high boost and there is a TON of blow by. I could float a ping pong ball where the oil cap should be haha.

drew - I have never tried to tune a gtp, however I could always try. There is a first time for everything and I am pretty sure hptuners supports it. I will check the hptuner forums and see if I see anyone around there talking about gtp's and see what I can learn. If you gather me 3 people to tune I will drive down there.

Sounds good, I am pretty sure the gtp's are supported but I will double check and read up on them. In a little bit I will take some pics of the valve springs and retainers.

Sounds pretty shitty to **** the dealer on parts and warranty when in fact it wasn't the cars fault it blew up or busted the tranny..

My car has blown up twice and I'm still under warranty and my clutch went out and I'm still under warranty. I ate it because I knew it was my fault, I had way to many mods on my car to even try, I mean I could have, but thats unethical in my opinion.

If its your fault then it is your responsibility to fix it yourself with your own money.

Pisses me off when I see kids that run the absolute **** out of their car and when it gets broken they de-mod it and take it to the dealer saying... Wellllll I dunno what happened, I was just driving along..

Good luck with the build though!

Thing is, I really didn't beat the **** outta my car and I am not demodding it and I am not taking it to a dealership. As I have stated its an EXTENDED warranty through a different company, not gm. They really don't care about my mods, nor what I have done to the car. The guy who came out to inspect the car the first time around didn't care about the methanol injection, smaller pulley, exhaust, intake, etc. Granted I did take the nitrous bottle out but still.

As for a quick update for everyone I ordered hawk front and rear break pads and powerslot rotors, along with arp head studs and the diamond pistons. I am pretty sure I am going with the GM MLS head gasket also, its like 60 bucks and recommended to me by several friends. The valve springs and retainers are here also. I can't wait to start this build .
