ZZP Stage 3/exhaust questions

I'm thinking of getting the ZZP Stage 3 kit with a 2.8 pulley. With this size pulley will the factory exhaust be alright? Also I was wondering when I go with an aftermarket exhaust should I stay at the 2.5 inch or should I go full 3 inches? I will probably send in my PCM so I don't have to get a crank re learn. Also if I need to do exhaust work is a header/dp combo more then enough?

You'll lose boost with a 3in exhaust if you're running under 300hp usually (or so I've heard).

The exhaust is restrictive. The stock DP pinches to 2in at the 02 sensor, and the pipe that goes over the axel is 2.25.

OTTP has an over-the-axel kit with an aftermarket muff as well.

Best bet is to stick with 2.5 imo, just replace the restrictive parts.

Is that for sure? I'm pretty new to these tuner cars and forced induction...I will probably just get a full 2.5 exhaust no need for 3 inch seeing as I'm not looking for 300+hp anytime soon.

Was looking at the Vibrant 304 Stainless 4-2-1 head with high flow cat dp with the over the axel 2.5 with a magnaflow muffler. I would suppose that would be a pretty good set up and cheap. Anyone have this installed? Pros and cons?

Most of the exhausts for these cars are 2.5 any ways. I think with the exception of the Borla, which is 2.25. Remember, if you want to delete all of the restriction, consider getting a new DP to get rid of that 2in pinch at the 02 sensor, otherwise the exhaust basically becomes useless (for the most part)

Well the Vibrant head 4-2-1 says 2.5 outlet so idk if it is an actual 2.5 pipe.

Thats the one I'm looking at.

i just did the zzp stage 3 with a 2.8 on my car 2 almost 2 months ago. the power increase for the money is nice. just be prepared to spend a few hours on it.no instructions so your on your own. rent the pulley removal tool, makes life easier, i had to still pull the snout off cause the tool wouldnt fit so buy some supercharger oil. the only other mods i had before where the k&N typhoon intake and a magnaflow muff. i was running 17. 5 pounds of boost which they rec. running 16-17. so then i ordered the zzp mid length header/dp combo and it dropped it to 16. i think its the perfect set-up, i dont think you need th3" ex unless your going to do serious mods. any ? just pm me

I heard the zzp exhaust leaks 2 bolt flange isn't the best design, I was looking at the clear image automotive set up because they use a ball n socket style flange and is leak free...but yea the vibrant is nice i like the sound. I'm mechanically inclined and my dad has every tool known to man so I should be alright haha. Thank you for the heads up and the info guys much appreciated =D.
