The differences are so tiny you wouldnt notice anything. Then you'd be pissed at spending 1k+ on something worthless

The new grind for the 07 takes advantage of a new exhaust port design in the 07 head. Putting in an 05 head would not be a good match. Additionally, the 07 has a cam position sensor now attached to the exhaust cam, so it simply wouldn't fit in the 05 head.

everyone one join together and applaude GM for once again putting too much electrical engineireing into the engine. Why can't they just make an engine that has minimal electrical and is modualar with other engines on the same platform. (BTW im aware that some internals are exchangeable between the 2.0 and 2.2 but common, could be alot better)

They tried that with the 05 and 06 2.2's with compression sense ignition. (no cam or crank sensors) and the ignition kind of sucks ass and gives everyone headaches

i think with all the effort spent removing the stock cams might as well put something thats gonna reap big gains in there.

No it doesn't. At least not in any of the Chevy's. Are you trying to tell me the 06 G5 has one? And if so, I want to see a picture. Remeber, we are talking about the L61 here. The LE5 and LSJ have always had a position sensor.

Yea mike, sheesh.

They dont use cam sensors in the L61 for those two years because of the crappy ignition

Anyone else see the new camshaft profile sheet on GMs website? Its near the links to the general ecotec buildbook. The interchangability listing they provide should only work on an upgraded ignition system...ie. not really streetable legally, at least with emissions.
