anything you can do about that 60'? i know its not an ss s/c, but with a little work you could probably hit a 2.3 and bring your time down to 14.4ish.

good runs

after really digging into that issue im starting to change my mind.
i think that slicks/drs are risky....but i think the axle thing has alot to do with driver input....and wheelhop.

if im not mistaken, all of the axles int he cobalts are the same, whether is be an ss/sc or a ls. their limits are, well, not good. you got to figure, with slicks the shock to the drivetrain is enormous, so the weakest link will break first. im almost positive an axle would break if you launched your car on slicks

you can eliminate the wheel hop and still break an axle. but that takes a lot of torque too so its hard telling. i wouldnt run slicks on stock axles but thats just me

well, i wonder if a hard launch on slicks would be mostly absorbed by a stock clutch, a stage 2 might transfer to much torque to the axles. but then im just roasting clutch and thats no good either....

I broke both axles on my car with 0 wheel hop, no clutch drop on street tires, but I was putting down 296whp and 271wtq at the time

yeah they held up on the street real well... just not on a well prepped track. I have the DSS stage II's now and so far so good and a few hard launched on em with slicks and no breakage

nice. figured they were around there. I was planning on doing a flywheel and clutch upgrade too.

also, what kind of weight reduction can i expect with the back seat delete?

we need an alternate axle option.
$700 is ouchies.

theres a company up in AZ....doing an "upgrade" to some guys stock axles for $85 a pop, I spoke to one guy who has broken 3.
but since he had it done he has been running DRs for a while, and was able to do 4k clutch dump burnouts.

wish someone could figure somethin out for us.
sucks being limited by axles, when your only option is a $700+ touch....
