2.2 ecotec in the uk

hi, my names Joe and im from the UK.

i currently have a 2.2 ecotec vauxhall vx220:









my current mods are:

current mods

turbo spoiler
turbo side vents
turbo splitters
TAT long diffuser
fog lights converted to air brake cooling pipes

16/17 speedlines with r888 tyres
GAZ adjustable shocks
fast road GEO
engine mount poly-whatever inserts
mintex 1144 (soon to be 1155)

full 2.5" piper exhaust system with 200 cell cat and 4-1 manifold
ported head
+1mm wasted stem valves
piper cams (260 if i remember correctly)
m62 supercharger
75mm intake pipe with a KnN cone
courtenay sport custom remap
let injectors

Full aluminum radiator
small pre rad
lsj header tank
bosch water pump (for pre rad)
gearbox breather with air filter
oil catch tank with air filter
EGR cheater

near future mods

eagle rods
rebore and fit bigger weseco pistons
upgraded fuel pump
Harrop supercharger
double valve springs
fuel swirl tank
full size aluminum pre rad with twin fans
much bigger header tank for pre rad
balance deletion
lightened flywheel
4pot front brakes
harness bar
mog seats or similar

the current bhp at the wheels is 270

however this should be changing to about 360ish soon.

However this is where i need your help...

do any off you lot know what i need to change other than whats listed in future mods above?

any help is much apreciated.

I cannot believe that thing is a Vauxhall! Such a beautiful car. Shame those bastards never know which cars to bring to the US.

DO you have an intercooler?? A nice meth injection setup would get you substantial power gains if you are not running an intercooler and moderate gains if you are.

lol its a vauxhall... made by lotus, got the same chassis etc as the s2 elise but still got a vauxhall badge thats why i painted the badges black to try and hide it lol

currently have a small charge cooler at the front as we wherent expected this much power, am now just about to fit a full size charge cooler rad with twin fans and doing the inlet manifold mod to cool the beasty charger down

get a sky redline. its the US equivalent. Theyre not the same in the way that the cobalt and G5 are, but theyre both 2 seaters, ecotec powered RWD lightweight cars.

hate is such a strong word!

just think 270bhp at the wheels weighing in at 840kgs

then sometime this year:

360bhp at the wheels weighing in at about 850kgs

its a pain in the ars!

all the radiator, brake servo etc is at the front but it is still full at the back.



however you can take the rear clam off as its all one piece

yup it is pretty nippy to say the least, but i cant unleash all the 270 ponies until i get the ods and pistons changed..... should be done by mid next month hopefully and then im off to the nurburgring in may to test it out

all i seem to find is just the fuel pump and swirl tank needed... anything else?

why waste cash porting it and swapping pulleys if he's replacing the blower with a TVS anyway?
