2.2 ?'s

OK I have a 2006 cobalt Lt automatic I have a AEM cold air intake and complete 3.5 inch apexi exhaust I was wonderin what other mods I can do that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Is there actually a tune for the automatic and what is this shift kit I keep hearing people talk about.

You can lower the car, strust bat and sway bar, a shift kit.. B&M or Autotrans Interceptor(harder to find since they dont make em anymore)

a shift kit increases line preasure in your tranny and helps you shift quicker.. it dosnt make it any faster just gets rid of the lagg between gears.. also makes you chirp into 2nd lol

also .. you can go w/ a lil throttle in a bottle lol

Is your exhaust 3.5 inch or just the tip? 3.5 inches is way too big for the pipe sizing.

The tune will be coming for automatics soon from ClearImage, check the group buy section of clear image.

Once you get all of the intake and exhaust parts done you can start on suspension or looks.
The strut bar is a nice start. Sway bar group buy is also going on through Turbo Tech Racing.

2.4 intake manifold upgrade kit from Crate engine Depot....ZZP header...

For the 2.2, an 2.25 inches exhaust like the GMPP is good enough...

You are losing a lot of torque down low with an exhaust that big. But the top end would be great.

Hell finish it off with the ZZP header and downpipe combo. 3 inch all the way. Loud as hell and power to spare.

Your going to have horsepower up the wazzu but your torque will be lacking with an exhaust that size....until your cranking enough out to warrant an exhaust that size....like they said Crate Engine Depot's 2.4L Intake Swap, body modifications for suspension. Maybe a grounding kit for your speaker clarity,

yep that's the one.

There is a How TO on it in the "How-TO section"

take 5 or 10 minutes. Worth it.

Why is it bad to have a big exhaust, what makes it lose the HP?

And CAI stands for Cold Air Intake it runs under the engine to get the outside air so its cooler air running to the engine.

get rid of the 3" exhaust, sell that to a f/i balt...and get a 2.25" exhaust, its all your caer needs, maybe 2.5 if you get a bit more mods, but def not 3"

because too big of an ecxhaust causes you to loose back pressuer on the engin wich causes HP loss..

Go blow air through a 3 foot stormwater pipe and have somebody feel the pressure at the other end.

now blow through a straw.

I have a header to 3 inch down pipe which tapers to 2.5 inches all the way back and it's the best combo I've found so far.
