yes it has been done. your better off going turbo...garrett has an alpha kit that comes with a flash tune...or "canned tune"....if u went supercharger the only option u have is trifecta.

BTW theirs a million post on this topic already go to 2.2 or forced induction sections

how much howerspower we talking? and i made that suggestion cause it's my route. i drive a daily driver and if a component in the top end gives out do to insanely high revs vs. how she normally revs stock i'm looking at replacing those components and more do to me not building the system up properly. there are stage cams, blower cams and turbo cams available for this very reason. along with the springs, retainers, valves and so on. you will stress the L61 when boosting period. better safe then sorry. i'm not trying to send you off only trying to help.

you'd be better off buying the charger from one the ss/sc owners and starting a custom build. you can run low boost with a tune of course on the stock motor. when your ready to put down 250whp build your top end and crank up the boost a little. just don't expect to put 250 to the wheels right off the bat or you will break something. the engine's rated in the build book to 250 at the crank without mods down to the weakest link, however you don't want to stress the engine to it's exact limit as that is the breaking point.

gotta love the half ass plans of people.

"i want to F/I my car.....how do i do it? what do i need?"

only when you can answer these questions, and the many more that you'll need to ask your self on your own should you ever attempt this.

educate ones self.

What he should really do is check around here and try and find someone who actually has done this to their 2.2 or 2.4 and IM them and talk with them at length about how they did it and what stumbling blocks they had. That would be my suggestion...

I can help you motor talk wise but not tuning wise. Since 2.2 ecos for j bodies ae supported by hpt.

On the stock bottom and stock pulley end without a h/e, 14 degrees timing advance and an afr of 10.4:1 under wot I made 196 whp on a mustang dyno which is around 218 on a dynojet.

I am now running a h/e and an afr of 11.9:1 under wot and 21 degrees of timing... havent't hopped back on the dyno yet tho.
Daily driven, 300 miles a weekEND alone.
extreme reliability as long as the tuning is down. I wish you guys could use hpt, it is so extremely easy to tune with hpt and the m62.

I doubt it since he's running the FIC also.

I'm having trouble with it.

I have it installed just fine , but when I add any fuel with it, the car will missfire badly at WOT and miss shift badly.

Even when I changed the settings back to factory the car would still missfire with the FIC installed. I had to run the bypass plug to get it to go back to normal.

Now don't let that concern you too much because for all I knwo it was how I was adding fuel that was screwing it up. I'm not a good tuner, as a matter of fact this is my first attempt ever at tuning so it might have been Human Error.

I just wish I could find a reliable HAL 9000 to run my car. A non human killing one though..
