2.2 turbo

Since the garret turbo will not work with the 07's I was wondering if the same was true about the alpine kit. Also I heard that the Alpine kit had an incomplete tune and if u bought the kit it had to be fine tuned, is that true.

the alpine kit uses a piggy back, and a lot of people say even the SCT flash for 05-06's isnt a tune its just a flash but it still works. And btw everything basically has to be fine tuned to work right

Im pretty sure the turbo kits themselves will work with the 07's, just we need to wait for HP tuners to get this asses moving and get an update for the 2.2 e17

you can go with the alpine kit, you just want to fine tune it when you get it installed. Find someone locally thats good at tuning. The SMT-6 tuning software is simple. Just make sure you have a wideband installed and your good.

because partial throttle tuning is terrible on a piggyback setup.

stay in vacuum or if you're going to make boost go WOT cause the 5th injector isn't going to get into the manifold all the way (butterfly not all the way open)

and you can't use the analog map for boost cause it screws with your timing.

different part of the VE table for the onboard MAP is goign to have a higher spark advance cause in vacuum (25kpa) you want higher spark advance.

You can tune for part throttle. Even tho the butterfly isnt open all the way, the fuel still gets around it, because the turbo is forcing air through it. Yes the 5th injector wasnt timed with the exact injector of the stock injectors but it worked just fine. it only added fuel when it read boost, be it partial or WOT.

i just dont see proper fuel distribution in my mind.

I agree, it isnt the best way for fuel distribution, but it works. The best way to go, which i may have to do if SCT doesnt work, is to have injectors in the runners of the intake manifold with a 2nd fuel rail. The AEM FIC runs secondary injectors off the primary injectors pulse so the secondary injector always opens at the same time as the primary. So you never have fuel puddling and proper fuel distribution.

i am currently selling an Alpine kit on Ebay, that will work on an 07, only small minor tuning will be needed, it has a tune on it already which will be a REALLY good start.
take a look. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/chevy...spagenameZWDVW
