2.2 turbo questions

The last turbo thread is to long to be reading all entires.
I drive a 07 Cobalt LS Automatic. I want to go turbo'd. But all the kits all say it's for "Manual ONLY", is it possibly to run boost on an automatic cobalt? I know thw stock trans can hold up to 350+ HP. My first car was turbo automatic, but the transmission was build for it tho. then my next question is when running the oil line, where do you usally tap for oil?
Thanks,
J-RICH

everyone has been telling
from the back of the block
or dig up the garret kit
and tap the block where the say to

and get a custom kit if your that worried about buying garrets kit
my kit (somewhat of a budget build, but still good parts) cost 1250 in parts..then tune and a clutch will put me just above 2000

Oil you remove a gallery plug from behind the block, use the adapter ttr carries than run ur feed the drain is the hard part, I'm actually looking into making a drain fee solution of my own but will need testing before I release details LOL

why does everyone say a drain plug is this hard thing to do. I can tap a nice drain plug in a few min with the oil pan off.

I hate drilling, and I don't wanna drop the pan and tap it, to lazy for that crap, I rather do things with out dealing with that, feed is easy, drain is a bitch, bcause I still hag 35k left in warranty, my install needs to leave the engine looking stock.

they make adapters for hondas so where u can use ur OE drain plug hole for a return.

IMO it would be a bit to low in the pan but might work... idk. might want to look into that.

there is also an embossed area on the block esp for drilling for a return line.

The auto tranny will work just fine. You can use the garrett kits with an auto, you just won't be able to use the tune it gives you for the tranny. You have an 07, which means you won't be able to use the engine tune either. Luckily though, there is tuning available for 07's now through ls2edit and trifecta.

You cannot go over 250 hp or things will break. Don't let others tell you otherwise, they are skating on the edge!

no, the oil would pool up in the turbo and then end up ruining the seals and then blow the oil right out of the tail pipe

i bought a complete remote mount kit from www.ststurbo.com and it was 2,999.95 for the stage 3 universal kit.

they sell each part individually so you can probably get just the oil pump from them.... just contact them and ask

I really like the way you tapped into your oil. It looks clean. but personally, I want the easiest way to tap the oil.

Your oil is not something you want to take the easy way out on, in any situation.

It's the lifeblood of your engine and the turbo, do it once and do it right. It could end up saving your turbo.

everyone stop being lazy and drill and tap ur oil pan, it takes maybe 30 min after the pan is off. just do it next oil change and put a plug in till ur ready to turbo.
