if you have an engine mounted turbo then tapping the oil pan is fine. you need to have a way for the oil to drain naturally or assisted back to the crank case.

since my turbo is mounted at the rear and low it needs the pump to draw the oil from the turbo and back to the crank case. If you look between the tire and the turbo you will see a white object w/ lines going into it from the turbo... thats the oil pump

I have a dyno clicky in my sig

If I were you I'd lower that thing to the ground, I wouldn't want anyone to know I had a rear mount.

Setup looks cool though!

ill post pics up tomorrow..im currently at work...and i cant get on my photobucket...its a government computer...but ill show you mine and where i taped the bottom portion of the block for the oil return line...its the same place as the garrett kit...if you look at their website and the kit for our cobalt you will see what im talking about

btw my cobalt is also an automatic...and im working on pushing at least 300whp...which i dont think should be a problem after i upgrade my intake manifold...im planning on pushing somewhere around 16lbs...and then once i get a meth kit...ill push for more timing and boost...mayb 20lbs

You can run the garrett kit on your automatic cobalt..Reason they say you cant is because there is no tunning for the transmission. My garrett kit fit like a glove and drilling for oil is easy. Just follow teh garrett kits instructions for tapping oil. Heres a pic of my setup.

thats exactly what i did, except my turbo kit i pieced together...using a garrett turbo and universal piping

you can tune your transmission with trifecta

I use a combination of 2.25" and 2.5" piping.3" intake..but i think the garrett kit uses a combination of 2.5" and 3"

actually, you cant see the turbo from the back, lol. haven't you seen my dyno video.... just click on my 258whp underline and bold print in my sig, will take you right to it and you can def see the turbo is well hidden.... here are some pictures taken after the turbo install was complete

you did go w/ a forged motor right? i cant remember. if you dont, a rod is going to snap at 250ish wheel torque (on the 2.2) depending on what turbo you are using 300 will be easy to get. I'm an automatic running 10psi and i made just under 260whp. I dyno'd at 258.94 to be exact.

do the 20% loss for being an automatic and this is what im at @ the crank for HP

323.68chp - 20% = 258.944whp

You should be fine on 15psi on the stock intake manifold for some time. Thats what im trying to run, but it keeps snowing so i cant take my car out on the roads.

once i finish building my forged motor im going w/ the vulcan turbo intake mani and going to run 22lbs and try to get 460-470whp but i'm thinking that ill probably only get to about 450whp so im going to have to use the cryO2 kit to get me to where i want it at.

so ive heard...but i really dont like this plastic manifold or the 2.4 manifold at all....to me it just seems like a plastic explosion ready to happen
