2.4 IM missing something?

I just got my new manifold and it doesn't have that extra plastic piece that I heard is needed. Do I need that extra plastic piece that is supposed to be on the inside where the TB would go?
For an 07

he doesn't mean the adaptor plate, yes that small plastic piece that Maven mentions in his HowTo is required, otherwise the gasket doesn't actually seal anything. so yes you have to have it. but check and make sure it isn't tucked inside, mine was, and shake it a little bit and see if it came loose fell inside, you'll need a set of mechanics fingers to get to it in there though. good luck! great mod!

kinda, the gasket will seal, but this is to keep up the velocity of the air and to seal off the area where the vent is for the crank case? anywho, it needs to be there
like stated it is probly inside somwhere, if not you need to either get ahold of where you bought it and get a new one, or get ahold of one if it was private party...

I got mine from gmpartsdirect and it came with no insert. I heard of someone still installing without the insert.

you cant buy just the insert, you either need to run without it, or get a new manifold.

hearing about and doing are 2 different things. without the plate the seal is not secure. the seal is rubber and the vacuum under the TB can be high enough to distort the seal and you'll most likely end up with a leak. not a good thing to do.

to the OP...if you bought it new send it back or call who you got it from and tell them it is incomplete. good luck...

I'm dumb. It was there the whole time just upside down. For some reason I was looking for something else like a loose item inside the intake.
