2.4 Mani, these all I need?

LE5 Intake Manifold (Part# 12587878)
PVC Seal (Part# 12589516)
Extended Brake Hose
Throttle Body Seal (Part# 12600729)

Are these all I'm needing for the 2.4 mani to go on the 07 2.2?

07 owners say they don't need the plate. 05-06 2.2 TBs without the plate can see their gasket squishing out...so best to play it safe on those.

thanks for the help folks.

Now I'm just waiting to find a sweet deal on a LSJ downpipe.

Once I get the intake mani and aLSJ dp, i'll be installing and heading up to see my homie Vince for a dyno retune.

Lets hope for......153whp or so.

so say a 05 2.2 that wanted to swap a 06 2.4 manfold wouldnt need any adapters for the tb if he uses the 2.4 tb right? obviously need a tune afterwards but. from what i can search the 2.2 05 and the 06 2.4 use the same 8 point harness. so it should just swap in. is their anything else i should be aware of?

you wont need a tune afterwards like its an option. your car won't run without running limp mode without a tune. so if you want to get a 2.4 TB you will NEED a tune ready before you start the car.

that help?

didn't mean to sound like a dick. but a lot of people think they can get away without tuning immediately.

to my knowledge, the g6 uses the same engine as the SS/NA, so yes i think it will work.

The 2008 G6 2.4L uses the same intake manifold as the 2008 Cobalt Sport...PN 12597953 -- it is a 2-piece glued together manifold similar to the 2.2 manifold.

The SS/NA 2.4 manifold is a larger 1-piece manifold, PN 12587878.

So, then it will be pointless?

hey hey hey now.

nobody has confirmed that the NEWEST style of the 2.4 mani is BAD or GOOD.

Once we get dyno results, we have our answer. till then, to completely say no based on speculation is not healthy for the community. i mean c'mon now, if that first person hadn't pioneered the 2.4 mani swap in the first place, nobody here would probably have swapped the mani on. :-P

and in reference to power output, supposedly the 2.4 didn't gain nor lose on its hp/tq stats. It is also worthy to note that the 2008 2.4 intake mani is CHEAPER than the previous 2.4 intake mani.

The plenum and runners of the 08 2.4L manifold are smaller then the 06-07 2.4L manifold. To the poster that has the 08 G6 mani compare it to your 2.2 manifold and give some feedback:

This photo is of the 2 manifolds laying side by side, not 2 pictures taken at different times. You can see the physical difference.

My main point is that the 06/07 2.4L manifold has proven to increase HP on, and wake up, the top end. No one has proven the 08 2.4L manifold can do the same...if the OP with the 08 2.4L wants to be the first, go ahead!

the 08 2.4 manifold runners are EXTERNALLY bigger than my 08 2.2 runners and the manifold carries a different part number.....inside? I dont know, and i dont have access to a dyno

I am not debating that the 2 manifolds in your picture are different. I am simply stating that the manifold on the 2008 2.2L L61 is NOT the same manifold I have that was removed from the 2008 2.4 G6. It even carries a different part number than mine. and on the OUTSIDE, the runners are bigger than mine.

And yes, I would LOVE to install the part and give everyone a definitive answer, but without dyno access my results are NOT valid. It is an easy enough swap to do, and If i didnt like it, it would be easy enough to change back....but the problem is still that NOBODY will take ANY butt dyno results as fact.....and I cant blame them for that.

Some say you need gaskets and some say not. If all your original gaskets are good is anything else need besides the manifold and the hose? For a 2007 2.2L if just switching to a 2.4L manifold.
Manifold #12587878
hose #15855993
