I think there is a kit you need to install it.
Check CED.

... no, that's from a '97 malibu... and looks total different from the one you need.
Here is the CED link... it has a pic of what's needed.

CED is the only ones who make a kit

theres more to it then just a manifold

i helps out a lot on 07s but on the 05-06s it has been shown to hurt more than help. just ask XM15 i think. he installed the kit, ran on a dyno before and after, and lost i think 9hp through out the rpm range. as far as on MY 07, the car pulls much harder in the upper rpm range...

it is plastic but is constructed a little bit better than the OEM 2.2 mani

You dont need the whole kit.

I just got a manifold, bolted up my TB and bought a new brake booster hose and thats it

I dont know why they include an adapter plate, mine works fine without it

mine worked fine as well. no adapter plate needed. but it did come with a new brake booster hose and i just modified it rather than change out the whole thing. just seemed easier to me...

so if you just buy the manifold itself you can get it to work? that would save like $100

XM15 gained 9 HP at the top end but lost 2 lbs-ft Trq at around 3K RPM. He didn't like the torque loss(?) and took it off. I'd bet if he lost 13 HP at the top and gained 2 lbs-ft Trq at 3K RPM he would have really been unhappy Even on the auto 05-06 2.2's it helps since the tranny shifts at engine redline. My 06 pulled harder in the mid to top RPM range -- very happy with it.

As far as needing the adapter plate -- when I installed my TB I could see the seal pushed out from around 2 sides of the TB so I was concerned a leak could develop over time. The adapter plate insures a complete seal.
