Exclamation 2.4l Intake Manifold Installation Help

S!

I am installing a 2.4l intake manifold on my 2.2l. I have disconnected everything but the brake booster hose. I released the black ring that holds the hose to the booster but can't remove the hose from the booster. I need your tips on how to remove the hose from the brake booster without breaking something. It appears that the hose would just slide off but it is on the brake booster very tight. When I pull on the hose to remove it, the booster itself begins to move or in a way bend. I don't want to break it. Or is that even correct? Where to hose is connected to the manifold, I tried turning in 180 degrees as mentioned in Maven's how-to but it doesn't completely turn enough for me to unlock it. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
INTENSEL61

Don't pull it off of the booster, pull it off of the manifold.

When I installed the manifold a while back, there was a 2.4 brake booster hose in with the CED kit. You cut your stock hose and install part of the 2.4 hose on the 2.4 manifold because you need a longer hose with the 2.4 manifold. If you don't have a kit, you will need to pick up an extra length of hose with a male-male adapter to connect your stock hose to the new section.

Hope that helps.

you HAVE to pull it off the booster cause it needs to be made longer

and just pull like **** and it will come off, its just a push fit

to put it back on reverse

I've been running like this for a ~year now with out any issues.

Flyy, what do you mean by cat-con? I would think any aftermarket DP should bolt to and aftermarket exhaust manifold. ...And all your link fail are belong to me! 404 friend.

Note to NightHawk...the 2.4 brake booster hose IS a 2-piece set up. There is a connector in the center from the factory. To install it on the 2.2 with a 2.4 manifold you only have to cut the 2.2 hose in the right place, split the 2.4 hose assy at the center connector, and install it in the cut 2.2 hose.

ive installed 3 of these
i have NEVER seen or used a two piece setup

just do it RIGHT the first time, and go pick up a sub 5$ piece of hose and replace the whole thing

Have you seen a 2.4L booster hose? They are a 2-piece hose with a connector in the middle -- that's the way they come. The one on my 07 2.4L SS was that way and I installed one on my 06 2.2 LS. The 2.4L booster hose has the bends that make it look "factory" instead of running a straight piece of hose. Either way works...just depends on how you want it to look.
