2007 LT 2.2L Tuning...

Hey guys, I've looked up and down this forum looking to see if there is tuning available for the 2007 2.2s. I understand they have a different pcm than the previous years, so that means different tuning programs. Can somebody update me on this???? I wanna go further into modding my car after Intake and Exhaust. Any suggestions on that as well? You can check out pics in my gallery.... Thanks again.

The 2007 L61 engines use the E37 ECM. It is not the same as the other engines. The LSJ uses the P12 and the LE5 uses the E67.

HP Tuners supports the P12 and E67 already. They support the E37 on other cars, but not the Cobalt. They expect to in their next software release.

Halfcent - I know you have been in contact with HPT. Did they actually say that it might be in their next software release? Because the last I heard, they expected it sometime this year, kinda vague. And if it is in the next release, does that mean the Beta version or the official version? Cause if they do have it in the final, I would like to be one of the first to start tuning.

Halfcent wouldn't have any inside info , especially since HPtuners doesn't support his model yet. HPTuners has had a few software releases since the new year and they haven't released anything for the 2.2 Cobalt yet. Check this site supported vehicles for specifics.

they contacted me yesterday; and just said that no support was offered for our 2007 models yet; and to keep checking the supported vehicles list....even when i mentioned having the same PCM as an 07 SS/SC; they said the current release still wouldn't work because it would have different database's.

You are mistaken. As I mentioned above, all three engine have their own unique ECM. None of them are the same. I don't know why you think that.

As for solid info, all I know for certain is they did do some work with the 07 L61 Cobalts when they came out just because it has an ECM they already support. At that time, they suggested retail support (not beta) would become available in the next version release.

People are so confused about what ECM goes with what car. Why GM did you not put the same ECM on all the cars.

Halfcent - He probably thinks that because several GM employees think that. I have been in and out of 3 different local dealers, asking questions and checking out some of the employees cars and what they have done to them. And its funny how many of them think that they have the same ECM. Even some of the employees that own Cobalts. Go figure. Maybe its just Arizona, but I think someone is teaching the wrong info.

CPerez1217 - I'm not sure it will work. Do the hhr's have the same ECM?
