23.5 Mpg Avg

whats your numbers? I drive in town mostly but about 25% is the highway..... shouldnt my numbers be a bit higher? I seen G6 V6's and malibu V6's AVGing at least 25-26 when I am here at the dealership.... someone said I might need to be reflashed but the car only has 2500 miles on it , which is past the break in period so I dont think that's the problem.... any help is much appreciated .....

What the hell, are you mashing on it. You should be getting 32-40 on the highway and about 25 in the city.

I romp on it all the time and never fall below 30 average

THANK YOU ! seriously and I am not even romping it.... I have issues with second from first going up a hill a lil bit because I just revv it to 4k in second and get to 30mph and skip 3rd so i dont lose speed.... but seriously I dont get why that would hurt me.... also kinda ride the clutch at stops signs but this is the 1st manual I have ever owned...... but honestly I am not too heavy footed lol .... I don't know I could just have the dealership reflash and give it a whirl..... I wont **** anything up by having my ECU relfashed right?

heh I am not kind to mine and I average around 26.5 mpg currently. Key trick with these cars that are stick shift is to let off the gas with the car in neutral when coming to a stop. That trick alone will improve your MPG in a stick shift.

And I am in a 2.0 SC.

I'm at 25.1 MPG and I beat the **** out of my car on the road. It's a pretty good mix of highway and city. I don't have a second thought about saving on gas. It's not why I bought the car.

Getting about 28 mpg city/highway mix, but I think it's probably a tiny bit better than that sincne I put on larger wheels/tires but didn't adjust the settings.

On the highway alone I've gotten around 40 mpg.

Alright when coasting don't put the car in neutral, it has been proven that these cars get better gas mileage coasting in gear.

To the thread starter. Try driving the car in 5th gear at 60mph on a flat road, if your gas mileage isn't around 30-40 then you have a problem.

When mine was new, I was getting 23 mpg all city. Around 5000 miles, i was driving the same and getting 25 mpg all city. Your mpg will go up as you drive more. One way to get better milage is to get an intake and exhaust. I now get 27 mpg city and 38+ on the highway, up from 35 mpg highway. And I'm an auto.

next time you're driving 30+ miles, reset your mileage counter that way you'll know for sure

damn, thats horrible, I see consistantly 30-32 mpg mixed (highways and city) I woud say I do about 30/70% city to highway driving tho. and I have the 08 XFE which is rated for 28 mpg city 36 MPg highway, but i'm not positive on those numbers, I forget already but it was a mojor reson I bought the car because when I ws buying they had only 1 XFE and all the others had like 3 MPg less highway and all the cars were the same price. So it might be your tire pressure or something else that the news targets like "junk in the trunk", rolled down windows, or honestly just a heavy foot.
