does anyone know the reason for this and how much it will cost to fix

There was a thread on this awhile ago, A guy having the same problem and it grinded. if its under warranty they should fix it or replace tranny, thats what they did for me.

 

yeah it sounds like something a warranty would fix, assuming you still have ur warranty, as time goes by, i know some of us dont have them anymore...i know i bought the GMPP extended just incase, last thing i was is that pwr steering to go out, or oil pump, or something i cant fix over a day :p
