I'm old school
Actually, the valve train on the LSJ and L61 are identical except for the sodium filled exhaust valves. And thats just for heat, not RPM's. You can spin a stock L61 to 7000 without issues.
But the above posts are correct about tuning. It's just not available yet.

can you really? I thought we were at our limit as far as the valvetrain goes already
so I could get a set of cams & up the limiter to 7K without a valvetrain upgrade huh...
even better, less money spent...

My question is, is that extra 500 RPM's really gonna do much power wise for the 2.2?
I have one, and even at the 6500 red-line, it doesn't pull anything at that high of
an RPM range.
If someone could answer this that would be great cuz I would like to know.
Thanks guys.

stock no it wont do **** for you...you don't even make power all the way to 6500 so upping it to 7K would just slow you down.
Its pointless without a set of cams to shift your powerband upward...

your merely stock on with maybe a few bolt-ons.
Thanks for the feedback Ion.

With that kind of RPM I would think that the entire exhaust system would have to be changed to and SS/SC system or better. There wouldn't be enough flow in the stock manifold cat and downpipe to justify it. Anyone else have an opinion on that, I just don't think the motor could breathe and probably float a valve.
