Acceleration Question
hey guys, quick question... i have an 06lt 2.2, better pic will be in sig when all the freakin snow stops... anyways, i've noticed that i speed up much quicker if i ease it through first and 2nd, and then step on it hard in 3rd... i have an auto, and it seems to go much quicker than just stepping on the gas from the get go... does this sound right?? also, why does that happen? thx

I have 2005 base 2.2l and mine does the same. Don't know why. I have noticed that it's a little fast now than when I first purchased it. 5,200 mi right now.

I like that color. Before I purchased mine they had one just like it except for it had the spoiler on it. Could'nt buy it 'cause it was already sold. Mine is black. I like that color except everything shows on it. Very hard to keep clean. Other than that, it's a great car.

yeah, mee to i gotta 2.4 SS auto and its like that too, if i press the gas from a slow roll and i ride out a gear for as long as i can by just acellerating to the point just before it downshifts, like when you can tell it's harder to press the gas i get better acceleration as well

The 06 lt = 05 ls. GM did there weird rename after the first year. 06 ls = 05 "base". 05 lt (4 door only) = 06 ltz?? Not sure on the last one and no matter what to rename after 1 year is dumb.

from what i saw at the dealer, the 06 LS came with NOTHING stock... no power windows, basic stereo, (no cd player) no spoiler, no power windows... had to pay extra for everything... if i'm not mistaken, my stock LT came with power everything, an upgraded stereo, (CD/MP3) and i have the sports package... the LT is a few grand more than the LS

the owner book says something about pressingg the gas to half throttle for passing so maybe that means the computer is set to make it go faster when not to the floor

As you put miles on a car the cylinders start to seat in their bores and basically the motor breaks in the motor will gain more power over time as the motor gets settled in. You should always wait at least 5000 miles before pounding on your motor to let everything seat properly.

alright pal i mean if your worried bout acceleration you shoulda just but a manual that would have made alot more sense and it would have been cheaper cause the automatic is an option

just curious, how did you get that response from my original post? Where does it say that i wanted something different? and how would it have made more sense?
