All Motor?

Okay I have an 07 Ls auto. And I have seen that they dont make aftermarket cams for our car yet because something to do with cam sensors and how they want to make the car fuel efficent or some crap. But I was looking at the patriot performance heads and they have the stage 2 Ecotech assembled with cams. will that work. Im also going with internals also thats usally what you do if you buy a ported head lol I would use the same 2.2 block right and is there any way to make the block stronger? And Pistons and connecting rods forged crank shaft valve springs and the head stud kit. Has anyone done this build or anything close to it

Another thing is Compression Gaping for pistons, and Tranny i have an auto tranny i heard it hold up better than the manual's. And i know tuning is a must also. And torque the bolts while building. But another thing is would i use the 2.4 intake mani. And my mid length header dp. Or would i have to with something bigger exhaust wise. I think im missing some **** but im just trying to get this thrown out there. Im trying not to be one of dudes that get on here and just say they have all these parts and just dont know nothing. Im just trying to learn more about this build and see if anyone has done it and i do use the search button lol but if any one can help out a semi newb throw in your input about it. Thanks for everyones help for me on this site so far

cam sensor is computer related the head will work but you will need a custom tune for the cams to work. and your exhuast will be fine. once you're boosted you may want to run larger piping but for a N/A build that's perfectly fine. the block is not your weak point in the build you listed and other members have built their engines up in the same way to run boost. look for misfitcobalt or yellowshowbalt for answers and make sure you get turbo cams for that turbo build. i have found out that staged cams are too aggressive for the boosted build.

So Patriot stage 2 head and stage 2 cams will work with the 07 or 08's, aslong as you have a tune?

If your going NA, you would want to up the compression. Go for like 11:1 or 11.5:1 for some good gains but you would need to run 91 octane. Also you would want to get tuned as well for maximum gain. If you plan on going FI later, then dont up your compression, stay stock or drop to 8.9:1 or 9.5:1. The lower the compression, it makes it better for boost but your power is lower while outta boost. The Opposite for high compression. You have a lot more NA power, but makes running boost harder without having to worry about detonation.

Your going to have to go custom for those compression ratios. Talk to Wiseco they have great prices on custom pistons, so does JE Pistons. They both have the L61 piston specifications so you wont need to provide anything. Just make sure you specify its for a NA build. I know JE makes them completely different if its for NA versus FI.
