not true. id be willing to bet a 1000hp motor car could be choked down by a 2 inch exhaust (lol) and then benefit from this

i think it would be cool to have the mean growl of a straight pipe, then back to stock for cruising around...

Thats the idea.

Generally, electric cutouts are quite expensive in my view, but do work for what you want, more noise at the touch of a button. I'd vote for manual cutouts, cheaper, simpler to install.

Downside to cutouts is that they are prone to leaking, they don't seal perfect forever. Most people in search of the loud exhaust don't even notice the exhaust leak once it starts, but to me it would drive me crazy.

For a single weld in valve, it is to me. You are looking at $170 + $50 install for a butterfly valve for your exhaust... I can think of better places to spend $200+ on my car.

well install yourself.....

and so can i when it comes to the money.....i just thought this was kinda kool........some people hate loud exhausts all the time.........this is at the flip of a switc

and im curious to see of dyno results.........if its the same gains as an aftermarket exhaust this would be a far cheaper option

The thing is, when you do flip the switch, its gonna sound like complete ass. Have you ever heard one of these cars with open exhaust? I have, and its not pretty.

As far as install... Welding in exhaust pipes is a PITA, its almost not worth it to do yourself even if you have the ability and equipment, which most people dont.

See, on a v-8, you can get away with it. I ran open headers on my truck for a while and it sounded awesome, but on a 4 cyl, it just doesn't work.

I have a cut out. I had it put on just after the resonator where the lsj exhaust bends around. I ran for about a day or two with it open, then haven't opened it up since. Its fun for a bit. But highway driving sucks!!!

Ide like to do this to my 66' stang when i put the headder's and exhaust on that are waiting in the trunk.

As far as using this on a 2.2.......pointless/expensive/and will hurt your power...
