it drove fine..

as far as the lean fuel trim code YES it's related to the idle.. that IS a maf issue.. or intake issue .. i had that issue before .. and we thought it was an injector pulsewidth issue.. and while that can be part of it after we fixed the injectors i still had an issue... also vince needz to make sure the maf is scaled correctly that could be it as well but he should be able to tell that as he did with my car
Yessss i have a vacuum cap on it, gees, you think i did all of this crap and didn't think to do that, lol... It's on there good to, i know any air getting in after the maf would cause issues. I thought i had it today, i cleaned the throttle body, and it almost 100% went away, but now the car idles at around 1050 rpms. But then i drove it for a while and it gradually started to take fits, but it's still better than before. Vince is convinced i have an intake leak or leak around the injectors or something, he says it is still lean at idle, and he has been trying to tune around a problem and it's not solving anything. In the morning, i plan to rip everything off the front of the engine and doulbe check, and i will make sure those injectors are sealed come hell or high water. I am no longer getting the lean code, so i don't know...

hmmm maybe you have a leak at the intake manifold?

whats your boost gauge reading for vacuum?

When the car is idleing properly, it's about 17" of vacuum, when it's not idling properly, it's all over the place, up and down, like the tach.

The thing that leads me to believe it's not an intake leak is, why when i started it with the stock injectors and tune, it idled perfect, then the only thing i changed was the injectors and tune, then up pops the idling issue. I will say this, if i have a leak, i WILL find it tomorrow. Thanks for your help. My IM is not work i guess?

My vacuum is about 20 when it's at idle, if that gives you any kind of indication.

I realize it might be a little different since I have the vulcan manifold, but not 100% sure. 17-20 is probably around normal.

Your vacuum will differ based on elevation, but 20in/hg is good vacuum.

those injectors r fine on stock rail, atleasy mine...I'm a 06 with cylinder shape rail( yes some cobalts have difrent shape rails, I've seen some with flat squarish ones...hmmm...

Unplug ur first 02 sensor...turn the car on...does it still do it? (let it idle for a minute or two)

Are your injectors seimens, is that who gm uses to make their injectors? My injectors were supposed to be GM, but i got seimens. My rail is round, and i've never had a fuel leak issue, just an idle issue. What is unplugging the front o2 sensor supposed to do?

It will make the car run off close loop instead on what the sensors tell it too, this will tell u if it's mechanical or electrical

So, i haven't been on in a while and thought i'd give an update for anyone interested. I fabricated the air intake. I've been having a fit with my idling issues, Vince from trifecta has been workin overtime with me on this.

Other than the idle issue the car runs GOOD. But my oil seals on the turbo are going out already, it's starting to burn oil, which SUCKS!!! I'm not sure if i should have ran an oil pressure restrictor or not, but i haven't even put 100 miles on it and after this weekend i'm gonna have to take the turbo back off and rebuild it... Hope i make it to carlisle, and not roll in puffing smoke out the pipe, lol.... Sucks cause i was thinking of hitting the dyno while i was there but, i don't want to push it now..

You guys saw the idle issue on the video, well the car was also showing lean fuel trims at idle. I've never been able to find a vacuum leak which is what it acts like it has. So we reflashed the ecu and put the stock injectors in just to see what happened to the trims at idle, and they instantly went rich. So it seems the problem is with the injectors. We are trying a new tune in the morning, back to the 42's and i willl see what happens. Wish me luck...

Sorry for not posting more videos, it's been raining buckets here so i have not really drove the car much

Thanks dude. Ya, I should have one up in a week or so. I just dont want to make one until I have the dyno numbers. My friends dad owns one of the only dynos left in town so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Just need money

Well, i thought it had one, but i think that's just a screen type filter. I got it from a guy who ran it on his srt and it came with the exact fittings he had on it, minus the oil feed line, so i just figured i'd be ok. I don't know if the srt has less oil pressure or if the spot they feed the turbo from has less oil pressure or something. Too late now i guess. Hope i make it thru the weekend, i'm traveling about 120 miles each way, prolly gonna smoke like a freight train by the end of the weekend, lol... Wish i knew where i could get a restrictor fast.

The turbonetics website/forums say they do not recommend oil restrictors on any of their turbos, so i'm just lucky i guess, stupid seals,lol...

I had the same problem, but I just got a flange that has a pinhole inlet and put it on and no more smoke. Of course, if it's blown the seals, then it's done for. I wish you luck. I'm still in the process of fixing my car as well, running rich as ****, but we think it's because I have an exhaust leak.
