Talking Bone Stock 2.2L

What should I do to my 2.2L Cobalt Lt? I've already lowered it on Eibachs and put 17" rims on it. Now I want to I want to get into engine performance. This is my every day car so nothing to rediculous but I still want to be able beat pretty much all the lil rice burners (nothing against them but they always rev up at me) lol. So some suggestions would be appreciated!

Forced injection, the SC is like a days worth of work, and turbo is about 2-3 days of work if you have eveything there, and people helping.

There are alot of factors that go into choosing what mods to do, like what your skill level and knowledge is when it comes to cars for one example

CAI, Header, DP, Exhaust, and a 2.4 mani swap and you'll rape every little rice burner around, assuming you mean honda's with fart cans, older eclipses, and neons. But then again you should beat them stock Oh but their are two HUGE downfalls to this car and they are........

1.) You'll never go over 250HP without swapping internals cause they'll blow
2.) Your car won't go over 105mph and you can hit that in 4th gear at about 5250RPMs

I think it depends on what year. In 05-06 all cobalts shut down at 105 except the LS Sport and SS/SC. Prolly the 07 2.2s as well. Dunno beyond that

seriously i hope to god because any race i ve ever lost was because of that stupid thing and i was always like what the **** seriously 4 gear and that's all i get but i gotta wait for a tune because i m ordering zzperformances header/dp combo then getting a custom bent exhaust put on then i want to swap a 2.4 TB so then i would have to tune but i think it will all be worth it in the end i hope anyway

It has nothing to do with the year.. Its all in what tires came with the car. If yours came with the shitty continentals, you were restricted to 105 because they are only speed rated to 107 i believe. but if you got the 16 inch alloys with the michelins (pretty sure they were michelins) on it your gov is set to 124

in that case, it would come down to money and what kind of goal you wanna set power wise. An example would be, if you want 200+ hp then you need to plan for a turbo or supercharger.

yeah 200hp seems to be the standard all the 2.2 guys want to hit i know i do but everyone says for that you will need a bottle or turbo/s/c i think its possible to go n/a and do it but it would just be extremely difficult
