Injen Injen Injen Injen

I didn't like the way it was bouncing around in the bay as SRI, so I'm running it as CAI.

injen all the way! cai > sri. cai sucks in colder air, therefore its a denser charge.

Thanks for the info....I think I'll just go with CAI for the rest of winter / spring and summer...then maybe change it to SRI once winter rolls around again. good call on Injen's part haha.

thanks...
Any intake will not make any real power differance below 3,000 RPM because there is little differance in the amount of air restriction. You have to really wind the engine up for it to suck more air than the stock box can provide. This is also why the dyno curves are about the same until you get over 3,000. Also, if you don't get the car tuned, its not going to give any real power until it reaches 4,000 anyway (PE delay).

I think that the K&N is 15HP only for the Supercharged model, its like 6HP for the 2.2

Now that I loked it up, the K&N is only good for 8HP, I don't see any claim even close to 15???

K&N Product Information for 69-4516TS

I don't know what your lookn' at

hes talking about 15 for the 2.4 cobalt. which also fits the 2.2. a lot of people put them on thinking they get 15 hp. when in reality its only cause the 2.4 naturally pulls in more air to begin with. so youre really just paying more for the same power. only thing thats different is the heatshield is more encapsulating of the filter. not worth it imho.

in retrospect i saw that i forgot to mention that the piping and filters are all the same. so you won't get any more gain out of buying the more expensive 2.4 intake

i just installed my GMPP SRI and im very pleased 3,000rpm and up it roars nice. the price isnt the cheapest but if warrenty is a issue like it is with me i would rather spend the extra and still keep my warrenty. very simple to install took all of 20 minutes. as for gains. there is an improvement in throttle responce.

i do have one question tho.. what is the difference between the AEM dry filter and the GMPP dry filter?

the sound from 3 grand up gets so much better with a catback exhaust.

For ease of install, I set my Injen up as SAI and left the stock resonating box in the car. this weekend i'll probably go into the wheel well and take convert to CAI. or maybe I'll just save it for the 6th and do 3 runs on SRI and 3 runs on CAI.

that box is restricting air flow to the filter you'll find that if you remove it theres a pretty big freaking hole to draw cool are from.

for christ sake its a ******* tube. buy the one that doesnt give you a cel

For all those boasting that an injen has a 6 hp gain vs whatever the **** it is for GMPP

you need to understand DYNOS CAN BE MANIPULATED

it wouldnt be that hard to make your new intake show a negative gain
