Can I Turn My Traction Control Off
Alright this is just rediculous!
1. You have to realize that even though you take out fuses and whatnot. There will always be some kind of limiter. Not for traction, just for the simple fact of engine protection!
2. We have light cars.
3. Our tires are actually wider than most cars our class. The wider the tire the worse it does in "loose" elements.
4. If your in snow, Spinning the tires does nothing but dig you into a deep hole. Which the only somewhat realistic advantage is going uphill...
5. It sounds like you people do not know what ABS was made for. It's not just for stopping. If your tires lock, you can not steer because simply... Your wheels are locked. Which Anti-Lock brakes prevent!
6. I know it "really cool" to do burnouts... drifting... or whatever. All thats really doing is producing ALOT of engine stress. Pressure on your control arms, struts, ect... Then you come around saying something is broken and it's GM's fault because of "bad engineering".
7. If you are about to be t-boned... Just slam in into L if you really think it will help. Sure, it still has somekind of TC but... C'mon people, what more do you want?
8. You are not a truck.
</rant>
But maybe it's just me. I'm not out to flame people and maybe I will be flamed. Oh well...

Drifting in a FWD car is ******* retarded.
Agreed, my car doesn't have ABS and I stop just fine. Most people seem to think that ABS brakes are different than non ABS brakes. Most people under normal conditions hardly use the ABS. The only time it'll come on if you're a moron and jam on the brakes.

Newsflash: You're wrong. ABS is designed to and DOES give you more control while braking. I've NEVER noticed a decrease in stopping power in either of the two cars with ABS vs the 4 cars I've driven without ABS.
I have no idea what would give you the impression that it's worse, but that's absolutely false.

i dunno it works for me and i drive thru snow almost weekly and ive never had a problem with ice, or snow. i mean if u got the proper snow tires and drive at the proper speed have tc could only help.
So the other day I was pulling into work, and my parking spot is right up on a garage and there was some nice fresh snow on the ground, well I started braking really early but this car wasnt stopping, finnaly I was full brake, ABS slid me almost 10 feet and stopped me. Summary is, I stopped an inch before driving into a garage door.
Im pretty sure I made out better there with the abs then i would have without it so...
ABS FTW!

yeh no abs in snow = a sliding mess, but its fun tho. yeh i still got beef with my tc too, just doesnt wanna go away..anyone know how on the 07's yet. ebrake klik = no work L = No work ABS fuses = No work...WTF MATES?
Ok heres the thing, there are two type of TC, passive and an aggressive one
The passive one kinda hangs in the background, and works well
It's only when TC engages and you see the light come on, then you're fucked
As far as 07's, those methods (L, ebrake) work for me, turns it right off, but since it also turns off the passive form of TC, it's rather dumb and quite dangerous

You slide on ice and you're fucked, ABS or not. Last year before I got the Balt, I was driving my dad's trailblazer and I'm making a turn on to another road. All of sudden I hit a patch of black ice and lose all control. The ABS did nothing at all as I was able to gain control back before hitting a sign.
ok heres what im going to do, The e brake has a switch on it that turns TC off, ill just add a switch before that, this way i can turn it off and on when i want, ill do it and pics will be up today
