Can we get over 105mph?

I have raced a few cars and it's fun to had the 2-4 car lead on them, then all of a sudden the car surges and shakes and people you are passing look at you and laugh. then all of a sudden your opponents headlights get closer and closer and closer and they ease by. WTF? There's gotta be a way to bypass this 105mph topspeed. The ONLY thing i've found is to just keep it at 105 (steady so it doesn't bog down) for a bit then it'll go to like 108 or so. then it starts bogging again. Could I just unhook the VSS? Theres gotta be a way. I 'd like a switch, VSS ON/OFF, get to 100mph, click VSS off and proceed to 130 lol. My old neon would hit 118mph but it would just stop and stay steady, none of this convulsion stuff. lol

i have gone way over 105 in my 2.2 .. it all depends on the year of your car and what options you have

its cause your tires arent rated to go over 112 mph anything faster is dangerous im assuming you have the 15 inch wheels mine has the 16's and i can go to 124

this was recently discussed, it's due to the wheel/tire combo on there, not the year. you could change stuff to up it by using a TechII, but honestly, sounds like you don't need to be going that fast in your mainly stock cobalt. top speed is not the major factor in a good car.

unplugging the VSS isn't going to work out how you're thinking, but go ahead and try it lol

can't you find something else to do in titusville more fun? lol

lol slowion2, you live in orlando, have you ever been to titusville, there's NOTHING to do. lol. My nova is fun, but I'd like my daily driver to be able to top 110mph. lol. My nova does that in 2nd gear for cryin out loud. And if i trade my nova for this 69 lincoln cont. (suicide doors hehe) i'll definately need someting faster...that lincoln is a boat!

I know speed isn't a factor, i've been over 130mph in a stock suspension/brake setup muscle car...on the highway and it's kinda scary. But seriously, 105mph..that's weak. I'm ordering new lowering springs for it soon, and some drilled/slotted rotors and new pads, rims and tires, all the normals, but I would like to be able to break 105 lol.

lol I know, I was joking, there really is nothing to do out there

as mentioned, you could have the wheel option changed, that's what I'm doing this coming Saturday at my friend's dealership in Port Richey (which I"m also throwing a car show at haha check the South East section). my need is mainly for the track though. I already trap just shy of 100 because I'm afraid to cross much higher, and when I finally get into road courses I don't want to be too stressed about that.

it must be painful to take so long to get to that speed only to stop there too lol

sorry it is a factor, but not a major factor, look at the 05 Mazda 6 i raced down Deen Still road in Haynes city, from the Haynes city exit to the Laklend (U.S. 98?) intersection. Ever been back there? a bunch of nice hard curves and a few lil "jumps" We started on the newly paved section, straightaway, he started walking away from me cuz of his torquey v6 and we hit 105 quick, he pulled away, but i past him on the 2nd curve and with the more nimble handling of my (lol) stock LS cobalt, i had gained 10 cars on him within a mile cuz his car was all over the road. But when we hit the next straightaway, after a bit he started pulling up on me so i rode the middle lines of the road blocking him from passing in either lane, then we got back into the curves and i pulled away again..after a bit he flashed his highbeams and just slowed it down. But I need that extra pull ...incase...i dunno i need to rush someone to the hospital..that's 1 mile down the road. haha

Look, just get different tires (and then get whatever rims you want) and go to the dealer. Tell them you want your ECU changed to blah blah tire rating and boom, you can go that fast.

do you want to die?? if you don't value your life, then ghetto-rig your car to go faster... just keep in mind that the limiter is there because the tires you have are no rate to go faster than 112... what does that mean?? if you go faster than 112 with your tires, expect a blowout... did you ever have a tire blowout over 100?? i can promise you that it's not that fun...

I destroyed (what looked like) an 05 Base Coupe the other day. He hit 105 and I kept on going. Gotta love that sport package!
