car starting

When my car has been sitting overnight or just 5 or 6 hours I get a weird grinding noise when I start up my car. Its almost like there is no oil in the head. But it only. Lasts like 2 seconds. So I'm thinking the oil is just drained out of the head and its just recirculating into the head. Does anyone else notice this? Thanks.

on your cobalt? how many miles are on it? If you bought it brand spanking new then i recommend following the break in instructions in the manual.....other than that i don't know what to tell you...

change the oil....and see what that does...if it continues...ask a dealer about it...i'm not completely sure what it could be right off hand considering i am not there...but it is probably just the oil recirculation cycle....but then again it shouldn't be grinding...
