Cat-Back Installation

I bought a Pacesetter Cat-Back from Easyasone23, and it should arrive tomorrow. As soon as I can confirm it will arrive tomorrow, the old exhaust is comming off. I did a search but I cant get a really detailed description on how to get it done. I heard alot about people cutting the exhaust at the axle. Anyone who has installed a cat-back, or better yet a Pacesetter on their car, could you please give me a step-by-step guide on how to do it? I could figure it out eventually on my own, but I want to get it done quick, because I have a Car Show on Saturday.

Thanks CSSnet!!

it should be very self explanitory dude, the biggest pain is cutting the pipng at the rear suspension, then break nuts loose and remove from hangers. chances are the pacesetter setup is going to be slip-fit ends with clamps. if so, I suggest lightly clamping the joints at first to get everything lined up right, then tighten them down once setup. if you have a set of ramps available to back up it would help a lot easier than just putting one side up on a jackstand.

Heat em up. do you have access to an impact gun? Use that too. Are they rusted or have you tried pulling them off? My downpipe bolts were rusted but came off with hand tools.

go pick up a can of PB Blast at the parts store, spray them and let it sit for a few minutes. that helps a ton in penetrating and such. I broke a ratchet on my downpipe nuts and sprayed them with PB and let it sit for 30 min, popped off after that a lot easier.

what wrench are you using BTW? maybe try a 1/2 drive, or put a pipe on the end for more leverage

We have 15mm ratchets and wrenches, we've even used our feet and pushed as hard as we could and we cant get either nut to budge, they're so severely rusted, that I'm suprised they are even hexagonal. How much is a can of PB Blast?

it's like 4-5 bucks or so

works like WD40 but a lot faster

spray some WD40 in a styrofoam cup and spray some of this in another, watch which one is gone first, pretty funny
