ok so i was at a metting from work and i was leaving and a kind of burned out a little bit and then my check engine light came on so i stopped and tured the car off and tured it back on and it still was on so then i disconected the battery and some fuses and it was gone then like an hour later i was giving a friend a jump and i was reving the car so it didnt turn off while i was jumping the other car and then i noticed it was on again so i did the same thing again like i did before and it when away anybody know why it keeps comming on?

ok well i reset it so the code isnt there any more and where could it get it scanned cuz i dont want to go to the dealer

 

adv auto parts can scann it and give u the code, then just usa hans book and find what it is

 

just go down to auto zone man. they can scan for free and at least give you somewhere to start

 

I hate jumping peoples shitty cars. Cops will not jump your car these days just because of the fact they have too many electronics in the cars that are sensitive to over/undervoltage ..
I am sure the newer cars are this way with stock electronics.

 

you could have a vac leak. same happened to me before

 

well i do have a boost gauge wired but i dont think it has a leak

 

You could have a short to power on the fuel tank presure sensor signal circuit or you could a damaged terminal in connector C160 causing an intermittant open. Or you could have a control module long term memory failure.

I have a bad thermostat on mine Cel turns on and off with the engine temp

 

well when you say control module i did have my tranny's control module replaced by the dealer a while back but i doubt thats has much to it

update:it hasnt came on anymore but i havent been burning out or reving much either
