Clutch replacement parts list (l61, 2.2L)

Hello everyone, I am in the process of wanting to replace my clutch and will provide the shop with all the necessary parts.
Mind giving the list below the look over and make sure everything is good before I place my order?
Thanks

Car: 2006 Cobalt LS, 2.2L, l61
Car is pretty much stock for all purposes and want an OEM feel as I daily this car. Got over 170k miles off my OEM clutch and I have at the car since 0 miles.

Anything else I should replace while I am at it?

Clutch
EXEDY 04801 Stage 1

Clutch Bearing Cylinder
12582666

Flywheel
EXEDY GF501

Flywheel Bolt (quantity 6)
11570626

Master Cylinder Fluid
Valvoline Dot 3 & 4 Synthetic blend

Pressure plate bolt
What's the part number for OEM?

Transmission fluid
What do you like to use? I have used Amsoil in the past, I like their transmission fluid

Dont use the exedy clutches, they are really stiff and not fun to drive.

Get an oem clutch.

i recommend the oem flywheel as well.

For fluid, any ATF based fluid will work.

I agree with Slowbalt. If you are stock power go with OEM clutch and flywheel. Aftermarket won't really be of any benefit. Sometimes you can get clutch kits that come with a new TOB. For Trans fluid I used ATF Dexron 4. I'd think you could use Dexron 6 as well if you wanted to. As for pressure plate bolt check Crate Engine Department's Cobalt store. I'm pretty sure (Tom?) bought them out and he has always been good to deal with personally.

Also while youre in there, you could change the output shaft seals, usually about $5 each.

I think Toms website is oempartsdepot

Thoughts on replacing clutch master cylinder as well while I am at it?

And when you guys mentioned staying away from Exedy, does that pertain to only to stage 1 and higher clutches or does that also include their OEM kit (GMK1010) as well? The kit is pretty cost effective versus piecing an genuine OEM one but at the same time I have seen mixed reviews.

Thanks

I said OEM because I assumed you were upgrading to a more expensive performance Exedy unit when it isn't going to net benefit. If the Exedy is actually cheaper than OEM I say go for it.

I wouldnt do an exedy no matter which one it was. Im not sure if i put an oem replacement or a "stage 1" in my beater car, but its a full face, stock-looking organic clutch. The pressure plate was insanely stiff and it was not pleasant at all for daily use. Not to mention, the clutch pedal was on the floor even after being bled multiple times.

Rockauto lists LUK and SACHS clutches. I would feel safe going with either of those over the exedy.

Never had one of their clutches I just know they are reputable company. I have their flywheel and it is quality piece. It's interesting that even their "stage 1" has such a stiff pressure plate spring.

My stage 3 KY clutch feels like a stock pressure plate and Ive had no issues with it holding power. It seems like exedy doesnt really check their stuff or for applications like the cobalt, they just let someone else make it and use their name.
