I currently have a K&N short ram intake and was thinking about switching to a cold air intake. I have a few questions before actually doing this.

What are the HP gains from a CAI?

Will the CAI be prone to catch water from puddles, rain, etc.?

 

You will gain a few more HP, as you are pulling cooler air from the wheel well, not the "warm" engine bay.

The CAI filter sits about 12-15" above the ground, so unless you drive in water that deep you will be fine. Get a Injen hydro shield to help keep the water off the filter....

 

If ya have the s/c or turbo you should any where from 10 to 15 horse from the gain. if ya have the 2.2 or the 2.4 you'll be luckly with 5 to 8 horse

 

Those number sound right.
