Can someone please give me some info on the stock head gasket thicknesses for the 2.2L. I was wondering if the Cometic Gasket is the same thickness? If so would the LS guys be able to use the Cometic 2.0L gaskets and gain some compression or would it be impossible or pointless?

 

Go to www.TurboTechRacing.com we have them 87mm bore .040" thick would be closest to stock.

 

I understand that .04" is closest to stock, I am asking if the 2.2 guys would see different compression with a thinner gasket.

 

Yes the gaskets are the same just the thickness is different. I have the 2.2L one on my 2.0L. It dropped my compression by about .5, so now I'm at 9.0:1. I also noticed a slight drop in power due to this, but they didn't have one for the 2.0L when I needed it.

 

But now you can throw a little more boost at it.

 

Alright my question hasn't really been answered. Can the Cometic LSJ head gasket be put on a 2.2L safely? If so would it raise our compression and raise our HP?
