Disc brakes?

Hey guys I'm looking to change my reserved brakes to disc but I want to keep the 4x100 bolt pattern. Anyone know of a relatively cheap way to do this? I'm thinking the SS caliper set up will work if you can findnthe right size rotor

if you use the SS brakes you need to switch to 5 bolt....your better off keeping your drums on unless you just want disc for show.

As long as you have the correct diameter and thickness rotor the bolt pattern is irrelevant.

What he said. To switch to rear discs, you need to switch out the entire hub assembly, meaning you're switching to 5-lug. Last I heard, there was a kit in development for just a caliper swap, but I'm not sure what ever came of it.

I know they have 5 lug conversion kits for fox body mustangs. They're fairly cheap too. Maybe something is out there somewhere for cobalts? Even though you'd be going to 5 lug, you'd get your disk brakes. The only downside would be buying new rims. And not having to buy new rims is a big enough incentive for me to just keep the drums, unless you plan on buying new rims anyways

search it, there was someone who came up w a bracket kit that uses saturn rear discs..im almost done collecting all the parts to go 5 lug 4 wheel disk all from an ss. you need a whole rear axle beam and hubs and stuff(fronts too but you only need the hubs and brakes), and you need to put in 2 proportioning valves for the rear brakes...other than those it all bolts right in.

still unsure about brake hoses but i would imagine you need ss hoses too. braided stainless ftw!
