Just got mine in today, got a quick question for those of you who already installed it.

Where do you bolt down the bigger tube?
I see it has a bolt holder welded on it but can't figure where to attach it.

Thanks

i had to bend mine to fit it in the hole on the side.

Works great. I used the small rubber tube (in the middle) that i replaced with a longer one as a washer. both sides, new bolt and nut, tighten. Does not move at all.

We are confused on why members would get an Ebay intake.... There have been post on just using "tubing" and members actually LOOSING 6-8 HP as the intake 1. was not tuned 2. does not have the correct air dynamics. If you are doing it for sounds and dont care about power, I guess that would be fine.... But an intake is not an intake. There is a reason why K&N, AEM, and Injen intakes are more... They test them to perform.... Not loose power to the engine... Do a search you will see what we are talking about.

LOL!!! I totally understand where you're coming from. When I bought my intake and SCT tuner for my 05 Mustang GT, I didnt go with a cheap $150-200 intake and tune, I got a C&L CAI intake and an SCT tuner, ran me almost $800 total, but you know what, it has been proven over and over again that it gives 20-25rwhp to your 05+ Mustang GT. I dont have a Cobalt or Cavalier yet, but when I get one its getting either an AEM or Injen CAI.

Turbo Tech Please post a picture of an AEM intake on here. It will be pretty obvious if the design is close to the Ebay Intake.

Losing 5-6 HP is not possible. Its metal pipe. The air restriction is much less than the stock BS. Hell the stock intake has 2 baffles essentially.

1. does anyone know when the intake will be back in stock?
2. where can i find a good filter that doesn't cost a whole lot?
3. i'm planning on buying a cover for the filter called a hydro-shield by injen for $39.95, b/c its always raining down here and i don't wanna drench my engine. anyone have this and whats your opinion on it?

guitar guy for info on stock send the company an email. now the filter you can buy at any parts store i got my from part source. and the hydro sheild is a good investment if you live in a high rain environment, just means you can drive a little better without having to worry about soaking your motor with water.

just get a bypass valve and use it in place of the coupler, works fine, even better than the shield

it should be a 3" filter. but what i did is took the tube that the filter goes on and took that with me into the parts store and made sure the one i got would fit. and i just got a lesser known brand one and it works fine.

the AEM bypass will run you about 45, but if you get the no name one, it will be cheaper, just go on ebay and search for bypass valve...find the 3" one and ur set, what it does it suck air thru the filter, but when there is a pressure drop aka aubmerged filter it will suck air thru the bypass filter...works fine, and just use it in place of the coupler joining the 2 pipes, although one side will be tighter than the other as the pipe is smaller, butt hats no problem...and i recomend the AEM

I found another intake on ebay. This one seams like a good deal but when i looked at the picture the placement for the MAF sensor was in a different location then the JDM intake. does this really matter?

new ebay intake:

jdm intake:

i was looking at the same one, if you look closely it looks like the bottom "maf" position is blocked off ? and there appears to be another one at the top in the same spot as the JDM i'm almost positive they are the same intake.

Question tho. If i am to get this ebay intake posted above and it is the same as the JDM people have mentioned having to file the MAF sensor adapter because it is too small, is this a lot of work ? like how far off is it? and will this throw a CEL ? Thanks again i know its probably been covered but i'm sorry i dont have the time to re-read 28 pages lol

Thanks!

guitar guy if i'm not mistaken that ebay intake that you put a pic up of is for the 2.0 and the jdm intake has worked flawlessly on my 2.4. yes you will propably have to file the maf holder a little but its not hard work just need a good metal file and your good to go. and i've had mine on for about a month now and no cel's and its been raining everyday, just got to remember to not hammer it when it rains or you'll screw your motor up from sucking in water.

the new ebay intake says it fits the 2.2L so now i'm confused, which one is it for? and if it is for the 2.2L is it me or it the MAF sensor in the wrong spot?
