You might as well just buy LS2Edit. your going to get a hell of a lot more outta your car if you do it yourself. just do some research and learn to tune. I cant believe your taking that for granted.. I would kill to have LS2Edit right now.

Only Vince at Trifeca Performance is the only person that can tune 05-06's then GM got there head on right and changed the ECM style to the same as LS1's and whatnot.

maybe I'm misunderstanding here but you're going to pick 5 dyno runs for $100 over buying a license for LS2Edit? I'm confused...

whatever route you go its gonna take more than an hour just letting you know. you need to keep like $400-$600 in your bank just in case. especially if these guys usually deal with high end cars their prices are gonna be on the high side.

It doesn't mess anything up if it's used properly. It's $550 shipped to your door. I love mine, best investment for the money for my car so far.

Why dont you just use Trifecta Performance. that is 275.00 to your door. and then all you need is the dyno 100 per hr here in MO. Vince has tuned a lot of 2.2 turbo cobalts and he has data logging which is good for when your on the dyno. you can nether street tune or dyno tune. if you street tune it is only 275.00 i believe

If your tuning shop can tune you using the LS2 edit buy it so you still have it for yourself and then have them tune you up. When it comes to tuning your car its always better to spend that extra money to have it done right rather than go the cheapest rout and have your motor go up in smoke.

the first thing you need to do is contact this shop and ask them how they plan to tune you.

second, if they can tune you ask for their rates for a dyno & street tune (not just 5 pulls on the dyno, thats not tuning)

if they can tune using LS2Edit there is a possibility that they already have the license to tune your ECM...if so there is no reason for you to buy the program. let them take care of that portion...

you need to realize this is the most important step of your whole setup, if you have a crap tune all that other stuff you bought doesn't mean anything. you should have been researching this before you bought a single thing. do you even have all the parts necessary to put together a complete setup before you drop this car off somewhere?

He may have to purchase a license for his model car...typically, a dyno shop won't have a license for an n/a Cobalt. But it's a small price to pay for competent tuning with a proven program like LS2 edit. Those Carputing folks have a great grip on these GM applications!

Agreed, ask the corvette guys. They love ls2 edit. I like what vince is trying to do for us, as a cummunity of car enthusiasts. But, I don't like having to rely soley on him to tune my car. Too many variables. It's a mail order tune. What if, he's unavailable for any reason? Or he goes out of business? SOL. Then that money spent is worthless. He should just sell it like the ls2edit, and try to make it more appealing by adding more user friendly interfaces.

If you go with trifecta you will save money cause you dont have to dyno right way you can do it in your driveway. The data log is really accurate. and you can ship it faster to your home if you would like. Vince is really cool go to his web site and give him a call and he'll tell you what you should do tell him i told you about it.
