prepare to be flamed, not from me though....

the ss/sc has a 2.0 ecotec
the 2.4 ss has a 2.4 ecotec
the lt ls ltz have 2.2 ecotecs.

i think that all cavaliers that had ecotecs had the 2.2

There are 6 ECOTECs.

L61 (2.2), LNF (2.0T), LK9 (2.0T), LSJ (2.0S/C), LE5 (2.4VVT), LAT (2.4VVT/Hybrid)

I believe there is going to be a 1.8L coming to the states very soon.

There were 2.4 engines for the Cavy, but they were 2400's, not Ecotecs. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Correct, they were 2.4 Twin Cam Engines (LD9 motors). They were previously 2.3L motors known as the "Quad 4" motors.

Cavi's were never S/C'd from the factory ever.

You can S/C a stock 99 to 02Quad4 or 03 to 05Ecotec cavi with the GM performance kit.
