Question Engine Hesitation

I haven't had any problems until about a few weeks ago (40K miles). While driving, the engine will sputter and hesitate ONLY when I give it steady gas. Not at accelerating or decelerating does this happen. If I'm cruising at let's say 50mph, then it sputters and kinda bogs....the rpms dip up and down while this happens, and it surges. It has never shut off on me, and it never seems like it will do so either. It starts up perfectly every time as well. And it's been doing it more and more lately...before it was just at sparodic times, but always the same situation.
At first I thought it might have been the air filter, so I got a new one, but that didn't do anything. I'm assuming it has to do something with the fuel regulation, but I don't know what.

I don't have/can't find a manual either..........
I tried searching but came up empty.

Anyone experience these issues???

If yours is an automatic like mine was it has a learned shift program in it. Basically learns your driving paterns and shifts points. I took mine to the dealer but i think you could just disconnect the battery to reset the computer and that should hopefully fix it.

check fuel filter, air filter, oil, plugs, all that stuff, it sounds to me like maybe a random misfire every once in a while. are you throwing a CEL???

No CELs, nothing pops up at all. I will look into the spark plugs and fuel filter.....you wouldn't think the plugs or filter would go bad at 40K miles. Doesn't make sense that's all.

Maybe I'll take it in for diagnostics......

If you get rpm spikes check your TB. I've see quite a few balts that had almost the same thing, and a good cleaning of the TB solved it.
