ETD Question

I heard talk that the Ingalls Engine Torque Damper will fit our 2.2s despite the website saying only SS. Anyone know for sure? As in anyone have/seen this installed on a 2.2?

I think you'll need to get a CAI before you can use the ETD on your car otherwist the big ass air box will get in the way...

Then it will work, but it has been found that those don't work that well. Get some new motor and tranny mounts. They will work much better. Don't waste your money on an ETD

Same here but if I had to do it over again i would get the TTR engine mount. But the Ingalls does work great.

It's not the performance that's the issue, it's the price vs. Performance

The mounts have shown to be better overall value

Agreed, plus the mount is now only about $20.00 more than the Ingalls, as the ETD (Ingalls) had a huge price increase Sept 1st.

Some of our cars 05 2.2's have the older mount and will not fit. But the new ones are fine.

Here is your definitive answer. On the 2005 cars, the engine mount was a different shape between the LS and SS models. The Ingalls will not fit the 2005 LS mount. From 2006 on, the mount was changed to the same as the SS, so it will fit those, as long as you have the factory airbox out of the way as you stated.

However...

For the price of the Ingalls, you can achieve a better result by replacing the mount with a solid one. Just like the kind TTR talks about above. The Ingalls is, quite frankly, obsolete.

^^^ A note to that, the ingalls 100% will not fit an automatic tranny cobalt. We at TTR have a solid upper engine mount for the auto tranny.

IF you have a 2005 with the "old style factory mount" you can get a new bracket from GM to convert to the newer style mount for about $30

So the solid engine mount will almost completely eliminate wheel hop?

It will get rid of most of it. that and tranny mounts will finish it off.
