Fast 2.4 IM Help Please

We took the 2.2 IM off and i had a whole new set of gaskets except for the crank thing gasket in the very center so we tried to rig it with the old one, then we hooked everything back up the way we took it off and now it doesn't run right it starts up fine then revs up to 3.5 rpms then settles and loafs like it has cams. not sure what we did wrong we followed a how-to guide but now we're stuck any help?

For one you can't rig the crankcase seal in from the 2.2 and have it seal right. Also mine came with an adapter plate for the 2.2 throttle body and it did the same kind of thing. I took it off and bolted the TB right bto the IM and it worked perfectly. And hopefully you cleaned all mating surfaces prior to install. If not you will most likely have a vacuum leak witch will cause high/rough idle.

07+ do not require the adapter.

the "gasket" or seal that your referring to is absolutely necessary for proper operation.

get the seal, reinstall.

thank you sir just ordered it, my car was running like **** without that seal and i got it from zzp i was sure that they would've sent me all the appropriate gaskets but i guess not. but i got it coming now just another 2 weeks to wait since i live in egland lol the funny part is the shipping and handling is more than the actual gasket.

No it was connected I just didn't have the metal gasket for the crank seal or what ever so i ordered it last night ill get it soon. We ended up putting the 2.2l IM back on because of that so that sucked not to mention my buddies neighbors were pissed off because my car is completely straight pipe with a 100$ fart can on the end of it.
