kinda iffy on the situation, but its better than nothing. i'll make my decision based on ur numbers. i'm very interested in the timing, sai delete, running 93, etc...

sry for asking so many ?'s but, what will come with the base tune? and what type of tunning will need to be purchased separately?

base tune is set at 300 bucks correct? has clear given prices on the upgrade tunes?

i beleive they are saying 250$ right now. The base tune will be a tune for whatever mods you declare when you start the tune..then small updates (tire size change, rev limiter change, etc) will be a discounted rate (dont have the figure) all other major retunes (new injectors, new cams...etc) will have to pay a discounted rate...but basically a new tune. But for anything but cams or F/I...you can do a few mods and then get one tune...cheaper that way

so when the tune comes out, you send them your VIN and what every mods you have done like manifold swap and what not for $250. then later on when you get more up grades and need a tune you pay them for a discounted rate

i don't understand why you guys are worried about future mods anyway

tuning in the last thing you should be doing, it shouldn't be mixed in with the rest of your mods.

thats why you wait until after you get cams and then get the tune

but its okay since you're testing...

Well i think you should get a tune if fully bolted. If you add cams or turbo later you should have a different tune made to cover it. So i can at least understand two or at most three tunes over the life of the car

so we dyno tuned the balt yest turned out very good. ended up that we started out before the tune at 136whp (corrected SAE #s) and with the tune i am at 147whp(corrected sae #s). I have the dyno sheets but they are not up yet and you can all compare them. The car runs GREAT and we found that 5th gear on this car at 6500 rpm will run you to 162mph we have a dyno showing this as well...so no spectics!! He said that he should be ready to market the tune for the 2006 2.2 manual (auto tuning to come soon) within about a mo...will let you know exactly when he is ready when i hear. He is VERY excited to get set on this!!!! He is actually looking to buy a 2006 2.2l cobalt

any questions?? (except for dyno sheets, they will be up later)

Dyno chart is much like what I expected, same power curve and all just slightly higher numbers. 10hp increase with bolt ons isn't bad at all on a 4 cylinder.

im not worried about tuning now. what i have been concerned about is what comes along with the BASE tune. also, i have been rocking the boat on whether i want cams or not. since there is alot u can't tune to compensate for the cams i am interested. ion u were in the thread a while ago about tuning for cams with switt n a couple other members. this tuning device should compenstae for the cams. also, for those of us with the SAI need to get it removed which this device will remove. also, when i run cams i'll run the 32lbs injectors, header back, 2.4 manifold, and probably a ported n polished head. 32 lbs should be plenty for those mods.

i'm thinking in advance of what i can n cannot do (mod wise) and this opens up some options.

Dont waste your money on 32 lb injectors. Even with Stage 1 cams you shouldnt over run the stock injectors.
