Flywheel Help

i recently purchased an exedy stage 1 clutch. i haven't installed it yet but i wanted to know if i should get a new flywheel too. i just want to know how much better it would be to have one and if its worth it. also which one would be the best to get.

any help???

You need to either re surface the stock flywheel (a machine shop will need to do this)

OR

Get a SPEC aluminum flywheel. With the flywheel you will notice much faster revs and better throttle respoce...

SPEC has a great flywheel. Fidanza is cheaper, but some have had issues with them breaking, we carry both... SPEC is better (more reliable)

I've got a Fidanza and I immediately noticed the difference in the revs. You might as well get a new flywheel while you have everything opened up.

you can get w/e flywheel you want, but if you getting a badass clutch, why use a crappy stocker one it, get a fidanza or spec flywheel, the flywheel will be coming off anyway, so your not paying them to do any extra work, yes spec cost more, but thats for a reason, its better, the fidanza is cheaper, but they have been known to crap out after a while, check the cavis, they run the same thing, aaron is just trying to save you a headache they carry both flywheels and im sure they would match any competitors price(considering its not a wholesale price), so pick one and go for it, like i said, the tranny is down, the flywheel is out...i dont see a reason not to

just installed the exedy stg1 clutch and exedy lightweight flywheel about 3 weeks ago, very good combo. the clutch is very heavy at first(about 500-600 miles)but then it's almost like the stocker in feel. the flywheel is about 9-10 lbs lighter and there is a huge difference in first and second gear, as you go up from there it's alot less noticeable.

Honestly I wouldnt try it.... You put in $300 into the clutch PLUS all time time/labor to install it and then find out you have to upgrade a year (or less) later? Do it right the first time, and save...
