Freaking Angry!

Well i made a post a while ago about my tranny grinding into 2nd gear, and everyone said take it in warentee will cover it, well guess what i did.. i took it in and know what they said?
after market clutch caused all these problems i even printed everything off and took it in
now today on my way home guess what happened. second gear is fully gone!
what happens if i continue driving the car?
also will a clutch cause this to happen?
is there ANYONE on here who works in GM's Warentee sections?

they have to tell you how it caused the problem....they HAVE to tell you...explain it to you how they know exactly the clutch did it

The only way the clutch can do anything to the gears is if the pressure plate was not adjusted right when you had your aftermarket clutch installed. This may prevent the clutch from fully disengaging from the flywheel. That can cause your synchromesh to fail and eventually a gear or two. Thats just the short version. Just a thought... now give me a penny. lol

And he ^^ is right. If you ask them they HAVE TO tell you. It's not like its mechanic/car privileges. lol

An aftermarket clutch CAN cause you to lose gears, and likely did. Your warranty SHOULD and probably is void on your entire drivetrain
I'm pretty sure you didnt ask here, if I saw you had an aftermarket clutch and were missing gears/grinding gears I would of told you not to take it in...

There is alot of IF/AND/BUT in this thread.

IF you had an aftermarket clutch installed, and it was an OEM replacment, it is covered under Magnuson-Moss unless they can prove that the installation was done incorrectly. If that is the case you should goto whomever installed the clutch and get them to fix it.

IF you installed a non-OEM aftermarket clutch (branded stage 2 or stage 3, etc.) then they still have to prove that it was the clutch that caused the failure, however they would not be responsible for any repairs.

First of all when you have a car that looks like a transformer the dealer will never cover a thing under warranty. Second of all its possible they did not cover it because they knew you were a stalker.

First of all dealerships will never cover anything under warranty when your car looks like a transformer. Second of all, it is possible they knew you were a stalker...and third of all you spelled warranty wrong.

The clutch itself is not covered under warranty, which is exactly why it is specifically part of the Magnuson-Moss act. The transmission itself is covered under the 60 month/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. A manual transmission IS part of the powertrain.

I just noticed you are in Canada... I don't know if you have something similar to the Magnuson-Moss Act there, but I don't think there is... so you may just be screwed.
