i know its probably been discussed a million times, but my friend just got a vw corrado g60 supercharged and wants to race me. i dont have any money and im wondering what else i can do for free (or very cheap, $50 max) to get some power/handling gains. I have an 07 2.2 ls and already have a CAI and front strut bar.

Cut your muffler off

YOu know the basics......

 

I don't know if you can do enough to keep up. Weight reduction. Take everything out if you're really willing. You could take the cat-back off too for some decent top end gains. Not much else really.

 

hahahahahaha. thats right. what was i thinking. i already know how to do this.

let me just go ask some of the honda guys around here for more advice, they know how to do it cheap

find someone with nitrous and ask to borrow it and youll bring the bottle back full

 

I'd have to say that "free mods" is an oxymoron.

 

why dont you just spend some money on some parts that is the way to go dont hack it

no i do plan on spending money, right now im saving up for struts and springs, then next is headers/dp/cat-back. but i mean for right now. i need more power lol



(oh and right now he said his supercharger isnt working, so its just an 8v, but once he gets its workin is when im going to have trouble, i have beaten my friends 84rabbit rv by a bumper, but only on like a 1/16 mile and that car is all acceleration and much lighter then the corrado)

Get one of those cheap Ebay N1 Mufflers for $15
Then go to a muffler shop and get the muffler welded (Around $30-$40)
