Fuel

My car has 2800km on it and it reads 11.0L/ 100km when the it should say 8.6/ 100km.

Is it normal for the 2.2 to use that much gas when breaking in?

I usually reset my: L/100km, trip B and average speed every time I get gas.

Driving 115km/hr on the highway usually gives me approx 6.8L/100km after a reset... but it jumps up to high 7s or low 8s if I do some city driving first and then hit the highway.

I have an '07 2.2L 5speed.

it's just cause you have a heavy foot or go up hill alot , it's normal. reset the DIC and you will notice it go down when coasting and increase when giving it gas.

Remember 11.0L is only a rough estimate, it usually jumps from 14.5 or so when starting from a stop to around 7.0 at regular cruise speed.

i don't know the trnslations, but i can tell you that your gas mileage will definitely improve after a few thousand miles... when i first got my car i was getting low 20's, now it sits around 29 or so in mixed, and i get the rated 36mpg or above on highwy drives.

pretty happy my mileage, got an '07 LS 5-spd back in Sept and have been always above 30 mpg, mixed driving and its only got 3,260 miles as now. Best I seen was 41, than it settled to 38 on my way back from a trip. Pretty much running a steady 31mpg.

Your mileage will also go up in the summer when gas stations switch from winter gas to summer gas.

Only reason your gas goes up in summer is cause of the heat, the fuel expands better than in the winter thus making it last slighty longer.
