not really we drive it around the suburbs. right now she has 175 miles and only about an eighth of a tank left. she doesnt drive fast she has been trying to conserve gas and the mpgs still suck!

Its prolly the way she drives, no offense. I went from getting 21 mpg's to 28 by changing the way I drove. I drive all city to. Theirs tons of things it could be though.

Trade cars with her for a tank or 2 of gas and see what happens. We had a car when I was in high school that everybody drove. My mom had it for years and got about 30mpg. I drove it for a few years and got about 30 mpg. My dad drove it for a few years and could get close to 35. We all drove in similar situations (city driving less than 10 miles at a time). Some people are just smoother drivers than others even if the end result is a similar speed. It doesn't seem to matter the car my dad always got better mileage than me or my mom could.

You got a bad O2 sensor or anything? That will kill your mileage but otherwise seem to run just fine.

well first, check her air filter, then change the oil to a synthetic, check the spark plugs (how many miles on the car?) plug wires, clean the MAF, and then see what it is at
