GMPP Header Review for L61
GMPP Header Review for L61
So I recently came into possession of a Freebie GMPP header.
So install. ( Car was on Jack Stands)
Let engine cool down. (Hose helped)
Remove Heat Shielding top and bottom.
Unbolt downpipe.
Unbolt header. sometimes the whole stud came out with the nut but oh well.
Pull header off of studs move it down and towards the block, to allow clearance from the DP.
Remove from underneath car.
Replace gaskets.
Reinstall.
So results. After testing for leaks. It's time to get some speed. So first off there was no more rasp to my exhaust note.
We get to a nice long stretch of highway. So i hit the light. GREEN=Go. Launch at 2500rpm, tach climbs hits about 4500 dives straight to redline. Pop clutch into Second break tires loose, same result 4500 rpm to redline like it's nothing. Damn traffic. So we go to a spot where we've previously measured 1/4 mile. Out comes the HotWheels Radar gun. Ok so the token asian flags me off. My buddy fish hits the stopwatch. At full wot car pulling hard, rough est. trap 92 mph at roughly 15.0. Yay I'm happy, results will be fully tested @Cecil County Dragway friday. My favorite pull with the new toy is fourth gear, goes from 70 - 100 like a fat kid loves cake.*

- First: noticeable difference was visual, the runners were laid out differently.
- Second: you can see straight through looking from the collector to the Ports.
- Third: Collector is completely open. Stock Manifold is half filled in my metal.
- Exhaust port openings are slightly larger.
