so today i got my new exhaust its a custom 2.5 with a magnaflow muffler it sounds really good and it's got a lil more "pep" in it , but im concerned that 2.5 is too big what do you guys think?

Its probably killing your low end, but oh well. How much did you pay for the setup?

2.5 is as far as i would go... and i agree big diameter kills low end

2 1/4 is IDEAL for us 2.2L's unless boosted...

i only paid 120 for it i had the muffler already he said if i didnt like the 2.5 he would do 2 1/4

so where do you all get your information?? I had a corsa 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust with my friend having the gmpp exhaust both stage 2 and intake and i pulled him in the low end.... so please explain that to me?? 2.5 is the perfect exhaust size for this car and i mean perfect

unless your going boosted i would say go 2.25". 2.5" wont hurt short term but after a while it's. Depends on your realistic plans...do you have header/downpipe??

Unless you have plans to go f/i, I say go with the 2.25. Even if you weren't able to switch, for $120 I would "suffer" having a poor low end.
