Hahn Turbo

please dont delete or lock this because i am actually passing along info that as far as i know hasnt been said yet.....if it has, well, then call me an idiot for all i care.....but i read in the latest issue of Turbo & High-Tech Performance mag. that Hahn has developed a stage 2 turbo specifically for the Cobalt......it was dyno tested on a 2.2 and put out 222.6HP and 248.9TQ at the WHEELS.....the msrp is still TBA but it boosts 8psi and is an HRC/Mitsubishi Super 16G Turbocharger.......this is in the July, 2006 issue

no he was full of ****, said there was a gm phase 5 turbo kit, like 10 turbokits for cobalts, called us all 'retarded' (please excuse use of the word).

i heard those numbers were supposed to be BHP and not WHP (not trying to discredit anyone, i could verywell be wrong) also, i thought they were having some problems with the PCM and tuning, and the kit was not to be released for another little while

Hey guys...this is an actual e-mail I recieved from Hahn when inquiring about the kit...if anyone needs to see the real thing...feel free to PM me your e-mail and I will forward it to you:

Hello,

We hope to offer this system sometime this summer. I do not yet have pricng or performance info yet, but hopefully soon. The install should not be a problem for the average mechanic.
Stay tuned to the website for future updates!
Thanks

Probably an adjustable FMU like they use on the J-body kits.

the whole turbo system replaces the cai....the intake is attached to the turbo, which compresses the air.....the intercooler(if one is present) acts somewhat like a radiator by taking the heat away from the compressed air.....allowing it to be compressed even more.....cooler air is denser than warmer air.....hope that helped

i was just thinking about this as i was looking at those pics...if thats the engine they dyno'd...there is no drivetrain connected to that block. So are those numbers actually at the crank rather than whp?

If they are advertising WHP, it's WHP. If anything, it's probably a 2.2 out of a J-body cause really, there is no difference when it's out of the vehicle. Regardless, it's a 2.2 ECOTEC, know what I mean?

the pic shows it out of the car so you can easily see how the piping runs.....every pic in the article was that was.....when the dyno was run the motor was in the car and it was done from the wheeeeels.....

AHhhh, you said "reta*ded", shame on you lol. I would assume that dip is from the lack of tuning or fuel issues, or something of that nature.
