Can every header and downpipe mix and match with each other. Like wil a shorty and mid length diffrientiate between downpipes needed? will every downpipe bolt right up to an exhaust or will fabrication be needed?

 

IIRC you have to have the flange that matches the header put on the downpipe. Should be a simple weld job though, for an exhaust shop or a decent enough welder.

 

No. Shorty and midlengths will obviously require different downpipe sizes because of their different lengths. for instance, the zzp midlength header can only be used with the zzp downpipe it comes with. as for the shorter header most any normal downpipe should bolt up as long as they are the same size. and that goes the same for your exhaust too. As long as the downpipe exit is the same size as the exhaust and it has the same flange it should work.

 

Guess I didn't think in terms of length, but of course your entire run of exhaust is going to have to be long enough to make it to the back of your car (or where ever you want to port your exhaust but the back is preferable for a number of reasons, imho). But I don't see why you couldn't have a custom downpipe made if that's what your heart desired, it'd just have to fit the length and flange requirement of the header.

 

well lets say that obx header...what type of downpipe can fit that and lsj? or is any vendors sell downpipes?
