Headers

I am thinking about doing some exhaust modifications now that i got the CAI I have to have somewhere for the increased airflow to go. I wanted to gradually eliminate the stock parts one at a time if possible. I want to start with the header and was wondering if there are any headers out there that will directly bolt onto the stock downpipe or just what i would have to do. Im not very handy with welding yet and would like to avoid having to weld parts together. If there are some that are direct bolt of or kits that come with a complete replacement set which brand does everyone recommend? Thanks

Most if not all shorty style headers will fit to the stock DP with no modifications. I personally went with the cobalt addiction header but there are other brands. The pacesetter header for example is a long tube header and requires a custom downpipe.

Did you notice any increase in power with the CA header?

A little increase in midrange to top end which is nice but to get some real good gains you should get a new downpipe as well. They work hand in hand together. I got a local shop to make me a custome DP and it goes really nice with the header. There is a header and downpipe combo from ZZP or Vibrant I believe (but don't quote me on that) for a good price. Search the venders and you'll find it somewhere because I'm not 100%on the company.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the ZZP one Ill have to take a look at that one. The vibrant looked pretty nice but the price is a little steep however it did come with header, downpipe, and highflow cat.
